Notes:
•His human form's ears are pointy but he -tries- to hide them under his hair
•If you decide to draw him shirtless then feel free to draw him hairy as hell (he shaves it sometimes but since he's a werewolf then... yeah)
•His transformations are triggered by strong emotions and he cannot control them (yet)
•He also transforms during full moons but since he expects it he prepares himself for it (no ripped gucci pants during full moons)
•He behaves like a dog when in werewolf form. His favorite hobby is digging up flowers and rolling in grass.
Info about his folk costume:
•Traditional clothes from Moravian Wallachia (Czech Republic). No specific village/city. If you want to draw this outfit then feel free to simplify/modify it. I DON'T MIND AT ALL.

Note: I am awfully bad at writing so please don't expect anything great here. I just wanted to get my point across and introduce Kain's backstory to those who are interested. There is a lot of unexplained stuff that was left out because the story is told by Kain himself and he (at the time) didn't know what was REALLY going on.

Fine, I will tell you all that happened. There is no point in hiding it from you since you already saw that horrid thing. That cursed beast I must share the same body with.

It all started with the disappearance of my father. I was just a small clueless child at that time. Nobody seemed to know what happened to him. My mother became so anxious and quiet since that day but somehow she managed to quickly re-marry. I guess that's how it goes in noble families. Anyway, this is how Nikolaj - my new "father" - suddenly appeared in my life.

The moment Nikolaj entered our mansion my days became hell. He was bossy, arrogant and selfish. Me being around him made his blood boil even when I was just minding my own business. His disdain towards me grew much stronger with the birth of my brother Abel. It was obvious he cared about him way more than he'd ever care for me.

Abel himself wasn't initially a bad person. Most of the time we got along well. I played with him in the forest when he was little and when he got older we liked to play chess and talk about monsters. However, as he grew older he became more distant to me. My brother started to act like my father.

---

One chilly afternoon my mother sent me to the shepherds' village to buy some food. She usually sent me and Abel in the morning so we got back while it was still daylight outside but Abel wasn't home that day so she must've forgotten.

The village was not very far but one must walk through a misty forest path downhill to get there. Since I went alone today everything seemed more unsettling than usual - as if the trees were watching my every step. On my way back it was already dark and the fog grew thicker as I stepped onto the decaying leaves of the shadowy forest's entrance.

I didn't get very far from the village yet I already started to hear weird sounds. It was as if now I was actually being followed and unfortunately my intuition was right. Something came out of the mist. Something big and beastly. I couldn't see it clearly - everything happened so fast. Enormous teeth were suddenly buried deep in my flesh. All I could see was my white shirt quickly turning crimson before I passed out completely. Even after all this, luck must've been on my side because I managed to survive. The villagers brought me to their village and tended to my horrible wounds. To my surprise they healed very quickly but that was unfortunately the only positive thing about it. My body started to feel awful every night. I suspected that I might've contracted some sort of an infectious disease and well…

it turned out to be much worse.

At first everything seemed to be fine though - my body managed to recover after a few days and I was feeling alright, maybe even better than before. My dear mother was relieved when she saw me joyfully working in our garden again. She always seemed pretty worried about everything happening around her so it was nice seeing her sweet smile once in a while. Nikolaj however started acting awfully weird. Don't get me wrong, he always acted unusual but this time he was even more irritated, impassioned and distracted - constantly blabbering to himself. Even more reasons to stay away from that ghoulish snob.

---

Some time has passed since my frightening encounter in the forest. Abel was back home enjoying his favorite activities: messing around with my stuff in the garden and avoiding me. I must say I preferred the latter.

Abel also spent an awful lot of time with Nikolaj. One night I overheard them talking about the "monster". Apparently the villagers didn't kill it so Nikolaj planned to hunt it down with Abel - to protect our mother and the people living nearby. At least there was some good in those two, I told myself.

A few days later I wasn't feeling too well so I decided to spend some time in the garden. The enormous greenhouse we had often served me as a peaceful place of solitude. I loved to stay there until dark and watch my flowers glisten in the moonlight. This time however, the evening didn't stay peaceful for long.

I was working on my botanical sketchbook but all of a sudden I began to feel more and more nauseous. My hands started shaking and sweating as I attempted to draw some flowers for my research. I decided it was a good time to go back into my room and just sleep it off but when I finally stood up from my chair I felt extremely dizzy and collapsed on the ground. While breathing heavily I started to think about the worst scenarios possible. "What if I die now? My mother would never recover from the shock and-... all I've ever done would go to waste." My mind was so busy with all these thoughts I didn't even bother to notice what was actually happening to me. When I snapped out of it I felt only pain. Agonizing pain all over my body that I couldn't do anything about. My consciousness was fading.

After this I was left only with these unclear images in my head - the blurry fragments of that night.

I saw a reflection in the greenhouse's glass walls. A reflection of a monster standing in a place where I should've been. I remember bright flames rising up to the moonlit sky. The final image is of Abel with his face covered in blood. He was holding a gun in one hand, his other hand was trying to stop the blood flowing from one of his eyes.

Spoilers:

Nikolaj killed Kain's father and planned to get rid of Kain too. He was the monster that attacked Kain in the forest in the hopes of killing him. He failed but turned Kain into a werewolf.

Nikolaj didn't give up and came up with a plan to use Abel, whom he manipulated all his life.

"I believe he lied to us, Abel. Why would that ferocious beast leave such a pathetic weakling alive? He is the monster for sure. Didn't you notice how weird he always acts? Kain wanted to kill those villagers but when he failed he pretended to be the victim and successfully fooled them. Cunning bastard"
